I was having a great conversation with a fellow business owner yesterday. When I was discussing my business, I was telling her how we work hard to educate, support, shop, and partner with our clients. How we build relationships and try to get to really know them so we can best support them.
I told her how so many people don’t really understand or even think about insurance. Her response stopped me in my tracks. She said, in today’s world, insurance provides us all with surety in a world that is so unsure. She’s right. Things are all so uncertain. Viruses are spreading. The economy is shifting. How we work, where we work, and even when we work are all changing for many of us. We don’t know what the next few months will bring, let alone the years ahead.
The one thing we do know is that if you are insured, you have some protection. You’ve mitigated risks. You’ve helped keep your financial situation more stable should a covered loss occur. That part of your life is solid, reliable, and consistent. It’s a way to help know that you will have a home, or a car, or your other assets if something happens like a storm, fire, theft, or accident.
That really hit home for me. As an insurance agent, I help people feel more certain about a small part of their future. As a person who’s not a huge risk-taker myself. I appreciate the gift of providing assurance and confidence in a portion of my client’s lives.
